For some of us, the weather has started to cool down, but for all of us, holidays are peeking around the corner. Then, in the blink of an eye, the holiday season’s gone, it’s 2026, and you realize you missed out on huge promotional opportunities for your martial arts school. Don’t worry, we won’t let that happen. Turn these holidays, recognition months, and events into promotions for your martial arts school and engage the local community during these final months of 2025!

October
Adopt a Shelter Dog Month
You’ve heard of goat yoga, but how about a doggy dojo? A partnered event with your local shelter can reel in a whole new group of prospective students and get some furry friends adopted while you’re at it. Like goat yoga, it helps people of all ages connect through exercise and animal therapy. Set it up as a co-hosted Facebook event to increase your social media visibility and grow your online audience!
Eat Better, Together Month
Physical fitness and nutrition go hand in hand. Why not provide your students with another resource? Collaborate with a local nutritionist to educate your students and host a public event to draw in new clients who want to be their healthiest self!
National Bullying Prevention Month
Martial arts training is known to help provide young students with the confidence they need in life. Why not lean into that during National Bullying Prevention Month? National Domestic Violence Prevention Month
Echoing the previous point, October also marks National Domestic Violence Prevention Month. You can do your part in raising awareness by hosting self-defense seminars and promoting your Women’s classes. If you’re eager to take it a step further, you can use your self-defense classes to fundraise for local domestic violence shelters.
Halloween Day – October 31st
Just because you’re a martial arts school doesn’t mean classes and seminars are the only way to reel in people! Family-friendly events like Trunk-or-Treat are a great way to build your positive image and establish a community. Don’t forget to invite other businesses to join the festivities too!

Military Family Month
November’s as good of a time as any to offer a Veteran discount! During Military Family Month you can create a limited time discount on memberships or merch, to honor Military Families.
National Stress Awareness Day – November 5th
Martial Arts provides a healthy outlet for stress and regulates emotions. Take time to indulge in some “Mat Chats” about how training promotes a healthier mind and how it benefits your life off the mat. You can also invite the community to a special meditative martial arts class such as Tai Chi, Aikido, or Kung Fu.
Veteran’s Day – November 11th
Every year, our friends at We Defy Foundation put out a call to Jiu Jitsu academies around the country to organize a Veterans Day Ruck & Roll fundraiser event. These events happen all throughout November, so start thinking about a date that would work best for your school and keep your eyes peeled for registration details and info on how you can take part in the cause!
Kicksite Liftathon – November 26th
Join Kicksite’s annual tradition and organize your own Lift-A-Thon event! Every year, we squat, bench, and deadlift to raise money for a dedicated cause or foundation such as Tap Cancer Out. It’s a simple way to make a difference and build camaraderie.

National Volunteers Month
‘Tis the season of giving and what better time is there to get your village involved? This can be anything from volunteering at Harvester’s, Operation Santa Paws, Adopt-A-Family, a toy drive, or even getting in touch with schools to host a free martial arts workshop. It brings your community together while doing good.
Tap Cancer Out Global Grappling Day – December 13th
Global Grappling Day is one hour of grappling from the comfort of your school to help support Tap Cancer Out in their fight against cancer. Register as an individual fundraiser or gather your academy to participate as a team and earn perks through the Tap Cancer Out page today! It’s never too early to sign-up.
Christmas Day – December 25th
Continuing on with the season of giving, have you thought about how your students could share the gift of martial arts with their friends and family? Twelve Days of Christmas – December 25th – January 6th

Family Fit Month is an effort to encourage families to build healthy habits together including healthy eating and physical activity. Why not celebrate the month with special family classes and family-focused training events? You could also use this time as an opportunity to promote family member discounts – your students might have a child, sibling, or parent who are ready to dive into martial arts and just need a final push of encouragement.
National Hobby Month
At the start of the year there’s no doubt people are looking for new hobbies to take on. Show them why martial arts is the way to go this year. Utilize social media to communicate the many benefits of martial arts, promote your trial offers and reel in those eager new students!
