With numerous discount codes already established and utilized across multiple landing pages, he’s had an impressive early start with this exciting feature. We picked Rocky’s brain about his school and how they approached setting up discounts in the system.
Tell Us About Your School
We established FX Self Defense in 2018. Currently we have two FX locations, Sylva and Franklin, NC. We currently offer membership for a variety of age groups, kids, youth, teens & adults in programs such as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (Knight Jiu-Jitsu Affiliate), Krav Maga (Krav Maga Maleh, Guy Dar Affiliate), Muay Thai /Kickboxing & Kali. At FX Self Defense, we also offer specialized training opportunities in women’s self defense, defensive tactics for public safety professionals, weapon retention for civilian & public safety professionals, civilian pepper spray instructional courses and STOP THE BLEED life-threatening bleeding control courses. Our students learn for both self defense and competition. We began with a handful of young children students and now average 300 members. We have an exceptional group of amazing staff coaches & volunteer coaches that help us to maintain high standards and caring, connected relationships.
How would you rate your level of excitement when you heard a Discounts tool was coming to Kicksite? Is it something you had previously been hoping to see implemented?
We have always offered discounts for specialty groups & their families, such as law enforcement, public safety, first responders, military, veterans, college students & clergy. We have also offered special offers & promotional deals, family/group & camp discounts. We were excited to hear about the discounts feature to allow us to more effectively implement & track discounts within Kicksite.
Tell us about the process of setting up Discounts with the new tool – level of difficulty, intuitiveness, etc.
Our staff has found the discount implementation for our memberships, camps & product sales to be an easy one. Want to add a new discount? No problem! Using the discount section of Kicksite allows you to add a new, customized discount for your clients in just a handful of clicks/taps. We love it! We are already coming up with new ways to use the feature that we had never thought of before. Landing page, membership & invoice discounts have been a real game changer.
Did you have any particular strategy for setting up your discounts?
We had long awaited this new Kicksite feature and had thought about how we would use it if it came about, so we were ready to jump in with both feet. Amazingly, thanks to Kicksite, the tool was much easier to use than imagined and we literally were using the feature for our summer camp landing pages within minutes.
How many different types of discounts have you set up so far and what has the response been like?
We are using the discounts in landing pages for all our special events, after all, who doesn’t like get a discount? We have added discounts to our membership enrollment process for some programs with intentions to add the option to all. Giving a discount to your student is now really easy on invoices as well and we have found that there is much appreciation from our clients just allowing them to visually see the discount taking place on their purchase.
How do you see the Kicksite Discounts tool changing the way you run promotions and generate leads for your school in the future?
We are currently adding discount options for many different areas of our gym and we are excited to think of the new ways we are looking to use the feature. For our gyms, this new option within Kicksite is going to allow us to innovate some new, more effective and efficient ways to run certain attributes of the gym, that will give us more time doing what we love, teaching and investing time into our students.
Any words of advice for other school owners as they start diving into the Kicksite Discounts tool?
This can really be a game changer for any gym that provides discounts, my advice to those gyms would be to take a look at this new discounts module as soon as possible. Whether you give fixed or percentage discounts you can have this up and running over a coffee break. This is a very user friendly way to save you or your staff time in the future and make your customer happy all in the same time!
