Which Devices and Browsers Does Kicksite Work on?

Kicksite runs in a web browser. There’s no app to install from the App Store or Play Store, which means the question isn’t “is my device supported” — it’s “does my browser still get updates.”

What you need

  • A current version of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge.
  • An internet connection.

That’s the whole requirement. Any phone, tablet, or computer that still receives browser updates will run Kicksite.

How to tell if your device is the problem

If Kicksite loads slowly, looks wrong, or a button doesn’t respond, work through these in order.

  1. Clear your cache. This resolves most display problems after an update. See How Do I Clear the Cache?
  2. Check for a browser update. If your browser can’t update, that’s the real signal — it means the manufacturer has stopped supporting the device, and browser makers stop shipping fixes for it shortly after.
  3. Try a different device. If Kicksite works on your phone but not the front-desk tablet, the tablet is the problem, not your account.
i Note: A device that can no longer install browser updates will eventually stop working with Kicksite, and with online banking, email, and most other web services. When browser updates stop, replacement is the fix.

Buying a tablet for Kiosk Check-In

  • Any current-generation budget tablet is fine. An inexpensive Amazon Fire, an entry-level Android tablet, or a base-model iPad all work.
  • It needs Wi-Fi and a browser that updates. That’s it.
  • Avoid second-hand tablets more than a few years old — the saving disappears the first time the browser won’t update.
  • Search “tablet wall mount” for a bracket. Mount it near where students enter the training floor.

See How to Use the Kiosk Check-In Screen for setup, and the Kindle Fire walkthrough if that’s what you’ve bought.

Still stuck?

Contact Support with the device, the browser, and what you were trying to do. Support can tell quickly whether it’s the device or something on the account.
