How to Set Up an SMS Integration

Before you can send SMS (text) messages to Students and Prospects, you’ll need to fill out the Set Up SMS Integration form. This form lets our SMS provider, Twilio, know that you’re texting on behalf of a legitimate business.

The following information is only applicable for schools in the USA and Canada. Schools in Australia should fill out this form. UK schools should fill out this form. If you are in another country, contact Kicksite Support for assistance.

How to fill out the SMS Integration form

To get to the form:

1. Click your username in the upper-right corner, and then click Integrations.
2. Click the SMS icon.
3. Fill in the following fields in the Business Details section. This information must match what’s listed on your social media and website. The SMS provider is trying to verify you qualify for a toll-free number, and mismatched information will cause your application to be declined.
   • Business Name: This field will be pre-filled with your school name.
   • Business Website: Copy and paste in the URL (link) to your business website’s home page.
     • If you don’t have a website, you can link to your school’s social media (such as Instagram or Facebook), or link to a Landing Page.
   • Business Type: Select the correct option for your business. (For most martial arts schools, you would select Private For-Profit.)
   • Business Registration Number: Enter your EIN or ABN number. (This is your business’ tax ID number.)
   • Registration Authority: Select the type of tax registration that applies to your business. (For most martial arts schools in the United States, this will be EIN – Employer Identification Number.)
   • Registration Country: Select the correct country (United States or Canada).
4. Fill in the following fields in the Business Contact section, making sure they match what is on your social media and website:
   • First Name: Enter the school owner’s first name.
   • Last Name: Enter the school owner’s last name.
   • Email: This field will be pre-filled with the email address from the admin’s user account.
   • Phone Number: This field will be pre-filled with the phone number from the admin’s user account.
5. In the Business Location section, make sure the address fields are all correct.
   • The address fields will be pre-filled from the address in the Settings page. 
   • You can change the address if needed, but make sure that the address information is for your business.
6. Choose a phone number from the Select Phone Number list. This is the number that students will receive texts from when you send communications.
7. Important! Carefully review all the fields on the form to make sure all the information is filled out and accurate.
8. Click the Continue button.

The form will then be submitted to the SMS provider, Twilio, for verification. Check back on the Integrations page to see if you’ve been approved.

As soon as you are verified, a green checkmark will appear on the SMS icon on the Integrations page, and you can start sending Announcements and using Conversations.

How long does verification take?

Verification is usually completed within 5 days, but this is dependent on Twilio’s (the SMS provider’s) queues. Unfortunately, Kicksite is unable to expedite this verification process.

If verification fails (usually because of incorrect information), a banner will appear on your Dashboard. Promptly fill out the form to re-attempt integration. Missing the deadline can cause significant delays.
