How to Use Classes
Classes are scheduled time slots in Kicksite. They can be put on the Member Portal and Landing Pages so Students and Prospects can sign themselves up.
Using the Classes feature is a great way to show your Students the options they have to attend. Additionally, people registered for a Class will receive reminders, as well as notifications if that time slot is changed or cancelled.
Setting Up Classes
Each Program can have a recurring weekly schedule of Classes. You can also add one-time Classes from the Calendar. Learn how to schedule a Class here.
The Classes Section
On the Calendar, all Classes are listed alongside Appointments and Tasks. To view just Classes, navigate to the Classes section by either
- Searching for Classes in Quick Links
- Clicking on a Class in the Calendar, then clicking “View Class” in the popover
- Clicking on Programs on the left sidebar, then selecting Classes.
The Classes section has two parts: the left sidebar, which lets you choose a specific time slot, and the right side, which shows the details of the selected Class.

On the left side, each day can be expanded to see what Classes are occurring.
- The week shows Sunday through Saturday; to see Classes farther in the future, use the Calendar and then select View Class on the time slot you want to see.
- To filter to Classes in one specific Program, click on the “All Programs” dropdown and select the Program you want.
When a Class is selected, the right side of the screen will show its details (time slot, instructor, the Program it’s attached to), as well as a list of everyone currently registered.
- If the class is upcoming, all Students are listed together.
- If the Class is in progress or complete, Students who have checked in are listed in the “Attended” section. Those who are registered but have not checked in are listed in “Not Attended.”
Connecting Classes to Attendances
If your school does not have Classes set up, Students or Prospects checking in at the Kiosk will not have their Attendances connected to a Class. For that to happen, make sure the following are set up:
- On the Program’s Details page, click the kebab (three vertical dots), then Edit. At the very bottom of the modal, make sure Class Selection is set to either Optional or Required.
- On the Edit Recurring Class form, set the amount of time people have to pre-register for the Class on the Member Portal or Landing Pages. This can be as little as 1 minute before the start of class.
- On the Edit Recurring Class form, set a window of time for Students to check in. This grace period is several minutes or hours before, and after, the start of class.
- During this window, the Class will be listed on the Kiosk Check-In screen.
- If Class Selection is required, Students can only check in during this window.
- By default, the window is 45 minutes before through 15 minutes after.
Adding Someone to a Class
Students and Families who have user accounts set up on the Member Portal can sign themselves up for Classes. For a Class to be available, toggle on Allow Registration on Member Portal in the Edit Recurring Class page.

When a new Student signs up on a Landing Page, you can allow them to select their first Class. Learn how to set up Classes on Landing Pages here.
You can also manually add Students to a Class by clicking the Add Person button on the right side of the Classes page. They must be enrolled in the Class’ Program to be added.
- If the Class is still upcoming, the time slot will show as Registered to the Student in their Member Portal. An Attendance will not be created until they check in at the kiosk.
- Adding someone after the Class has occurred will create an Attendance for them for that Program and Class.
- This counts towards the Days and Classes at Rank count for that Program.
- Just like manually adding from the Profile, adding someone here will ignore attendance limits or check-in restrictions.
