3 Resources to help write blog posts

April 18, 2024

In tandem with our “A beginner’s guide to writing SEO-friendly blogs for a martial arts website” blog, we decided to compile more resources to help with your blog writing process. Blogs are one of the best ways to drive traffic to a website, are inexpensive, and they don’t have to take up too much of your time. They are especially quick and easy when you utilize tools and resources to aid in the writing process. With these resources, research, and your existing industry knowledge, you’ll establish your business’s expertise and improve website traffic in the process.

1. Keyword Research Tools

As mentioned in the previous blog post, writing about relevant content can improve search rankings. This leads to increased website traffic and improved SEO. By providing valuable information to current and prospective students, you’re also helping your website performance. You may be wondering which are the best keywords for your business to use, but there are plenty of free tools out there to help you identify them.

With a quick search, you can find numerous options for free keyword research tools. There are a lot to choose from, but here are some free options we recommend:

Wordstream

Ahrefs Keyword Generator

Moz Explorer

These sites will prompt you to enter a keyword (‘Jiu Jitsu’ or ‘Taekwondo’, for example) and then provide you with related keywords to improve for your business’s discoverability. These keyword lists typically account for search volume, competition, and ranking difficulty. From there, you’ll use those keywords to help guide your blog post topic, and consistently include those keywords as you write, bringing us to tool #2.

2. AI Writing & Checker Tools

With your new keywords, you have a starting point on what to input into AI writing tools, such as the famous ChatGPT. Take your suggested keywords as a starting point to generate and brainstorm topic ideas. From there, you can use the written output as a starting point for your blog post, with emphasis on “starting point”. We repeat: don’t just drop AI generated content directly into your blog post!

Google has released an official statement regarding AI-generated content and SEO. In summary, while high-quality content is valued above all else, human-made content is prioritized over AI-generated content. This is where AI Checkers like ContentDetector come in handy. These tools help detect AI generated text. You can still utilize AI writing tools to create your foundation then simply edit, revise, and add details until your post is no longer flagged as AI. Together, this combination saves you a ton of time and preserves your search engine optimization.

3. Editing Software Applications

Whether you used the help of AI or not, it’s time to edit your blog post! There are numerous free editing tools out there. From Grammarly to Hemingway Editor, you have a wide variety of editing applications to choose from. Some editing software also comes with the aforementioned AI writing assistant to provide further edits. This step of the process helps your writing come across clearly and provide value to the reader. Whether you’re an inexperienced writer or a pro blogger, everyone needs someone or something to proofread their work!

With this collection of tools and resources at your fingertips, hopefully the idea of writing blog posts doesn’t feel as daunting.
