We asked Eden

What do you do at Kicksite?

I lay the groundwork for the developers so we can build out Kicksite’s features. Most of my time is spent creating mockups, researching, making decisions, and LOTS of collaborating with the rest of the team. From interviewing users to designing what certain buttons look like, each step of the design process is incredibly important. You can’t have a good design without putting thought into all of its pieces!

Name 3 things you can’t live without:

Iced coffee, my computer, and a good book.

Favorite quote:

“All that we do, almost all the time, is design, for design is basic to all human activity.” – Victor Papanek

Favorite book:

I’m going to cheat and instead say my favorite series. I’ve become a huge fan of Brandon Sanderson’s “The Final Empire,” aka Mistborn. It’s got everything I want in fantasy – awesome characters, in-depth world building, and a super unique magic system!

What are you passionate about?

Design. It’s all around us, whether we notice it or not. Early in design school, I learned how to spot things that are badly designed. But finding things that are well-designed can be harder. Industrial design legend Dieter Rams said “good design is unobtrusive,” and that goes for UI/UX design as well. Noticing the well-designed things and learning from them is always exciting for me.
