Setting up Kicksite for Google Ads and Meta Ads
If you’re planning to run ads on Google or Meta (Facebook and Instagram), there are steps you can take inside your Kicksite software prior to setting up ad campaigns so you’ll be able to better track and attribute incoming ad leads. Although this article specifically discusses Google and Meta ads, these same steps can be taken for other online ad platforms you may be considering (TikTok, Reddit, etc.).
Set up Custom Source(s)
First, you’ll want to create custom Sources for your paid ads in your Kicksite settings.
- Click your name in the upper right corner, then click Settings OR search ‘Sources’ in Quick Links.
- On the Sources tab within Settings, create a new Source with the appropriate title (‘Google Ads’, ‘Meta Ads’, etc.) If you’re running multiple unique ads at once, we recommend setting up a custom Source for each individual ad or ad set (‘Google Ads – Kids BJJ’ for example) for more detailed tracking.
- Save your updates and you’ll now be able to connect the new Sources when you create lead capture forms and landing pages in the software.

Create a dedicated Lead Capture Form in Kicksite
Next, to keep your incoming leads properly categorized, we recommend creating a unique, dedicated Lead Capture Form for each ad you are running, connected to the custom Source(s) you previously created.
- In the left hand navigation menu, go to Marketing Tools–>Lead Capture Forms–>Add New or search ‘Lead Capture Forms in Quick Links.
- On the Lead Capture Form customization page, click Show Advanced Settings.
- Scroll down to Submissions and hit the toggle to turn on ‘Use custom source’. From the dropdown, select the custom source you previously created.

Create a dedicated webpage on your website
The best practice for Google and Meta ads is to have a specific, dedicated webpage built on your website to be used as the ad destination. These ad-specific webpages can then have your custom lead capture form embedded on them so that visitors who click on your ad and fill out the form have a properly categorized source in Kicksite when they are added to your Prospects List.
If you’re a Kicksite Website Services customer
Kicksite customers who are using our Professional Website Services can contact the Kicksite team to request the addition of webpages needed for your advertising campaign. We will take care of building them out as well as integrating your custom lead capture form into the webpage. We can also assist Professional Website Services customers with implementing a Google Tag or Meta Pixel on the back end of your website to help with further and enhanced tracking in those third-party ad systems.
If you manage your own website
If you manage your own website or use another third-party for website services, you’ll need to create or request the creation of your new webpage and incorporate the custom lead capture form. Through Kicksite, you can easily generate embeddable iframe code for Lead Capture Forms. To access this code:
1. In the left hand navigation menu, go to Marketing Tools–>Lead Capture Forms OR search Lead Capture Forms in Quick Links.
2. On the form you’d like to embed, click Share then Embed, and a window will pop up with the embed code.
3. Copy the code to paste into your website’s back end editor or to pass along to your website designer.
You’ll also want to consider adding a Google Tag or Meta Pixel to your website.

Identify ad leads in the Prospects List
Once your custom Source and dedicated Lead Capture Form have been created in Kicksite, and a dedicated ad landing page has been built on your website, you are ready to start capturing ad leads and managing them in your software! When visitors fill out the form on your ad landing page, they’ll be added to the Prospects List in Kicksite. From here, there are two places where you’ll be able to identify their Source: 1) on the Table View of the Prospects List and 2) in the individual Prospects Profile. On the Prospects List, you can use the Filters to narrow your view and only see Prospects that came from your custom ad Source(s).
